Southampton will try to negotiate with Arsenal over the signing of Theo Walcott during the January transfer window.
The Premier League strugglers, who secured their first win in 10 matches against Championship Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday, are desperate to add attacking quality to their squad this window.
Arsenal are said to want more than £25million for Walcott, who enjoys a £110,000-per-week contract that expires at the end of next season.

That is steep money for Southampton, despite the £75m sale of Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool.
