Sol Campbell rants on twitter after he was not named in the New Year Honours list, as the former England defender claims he was once 'pound for pound the best defender in the world' in a list of reasons he should have been recognised

Sol Campbell has posted a list of his footballing achievements on twitter in outrage after not being named in this year's New Year Honours list.

The former Arsenal and Tottenham defender said he has seen 'a lot of people' getting MBEs, OBEs and knighthoods for services to sport, and made it clear he felt he should be among them.

Other footballing stars did make the list, with Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, Ellen White and Lucy Bronze all recognised after their role in the Lionesses' triumph at the Euros.
