Arsenal legend Sol Campbell has suggested clubs are scared of hiring 'one of the greatest minds in football' after missing out on the Oxford job.
Campbell, a former England international defender, was one of the candidates that spoke to Oxford about replacing former boss Pep Clotet, but they are expected to turn to Craig Bellamy.
Bellamy has been coaching at Cardiff City, while Campbell has little experience of working with footballers following his retirement, aside from a stint as Trinidad and Tobago assistant coach.

But the 43-year-old is convinced his lack of experience is not a reason to reject him as he is 'intelligent enough' to succeed at League One level.
