Saka enters record books after England goal

Related Topics: Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka has equalled a club record that has stood for nearly 86 years – our highest scorer for the England national men’s team.

Our winger netted his 12th goal for the Three Lions in the win over Switzerland on Saturday, bringing him level with Cliff Bastin’s haul for his country, which he racked up from 21 appearances between 1931 and 1938.

Saka’s dozen have come from 37 games. He made his debut in a 3-0 win over Wales on October 8, 2020, at the age of 19. Bastin – nicknamed Boy Bastin at the time – was also just 19 when he made his England debut.
