Roma star set for talks over new deal amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea

Roma will kick off contract talks with Arsenal and Chelsea target Kostas Manolas in the next few weeks.

The defender's current deal expires in the summer of 2019 and Roma are keen to tie him down to fresh terms.

In the last transfer window the Greece international nearly joined Zenit St Petersburg and he was also tracked by Chelsea. Arsenal are long-term admirers of Manolas too.

As a result, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma will begin negotiations with Manolas over a new deal this month.

The club's sporting director, Monchi, will head up the negotiations and he is due to meet with the player and his agent in Rome.
