Revealed: Why Mathys Tel made stunning U-turn over deadline day Tottenham move as loan deal is agreed with option to buy in summer

Mathys Tel performed a dramatic U-turn to join Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich on Monday after being convinced by a phone call from Ange Postecoglou.

Mail Sport understands that Spurs have agreed a deal to sign Tel on loan with an option to buy in the summer for a price of £46million, on a six year contract.

Tel had rejected Spurs last week — despite chairman Daniel Levy flying to Munich to meet him — then Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal made their interest known.
