It proved not to be our night at the Allianz Arena as we fell to a 1-0 defeat against Bayern Munich in the away leg of the Women’s Champions League quarter-final.
A first-half header from Bayern’s Lea Schuller was enough to give the hosts a slender advantage going into next week’s tie at Emirates Stadium.
Yet our Gunners put on a second-half display to be proud of, with Caitlin Foord’s skill and tenacity proving especially problematic for Bayern’s backline.
