Newcastle United have reportedly sent scout Geoff Lockhart to Germany to cast his eye over Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz.
The 18-year-old has attracted interest from a host of Europe's top clubs, with Manchester United and Arsenal linked with moves to bring the German international to the Premier League.
Wirtz has made a stunning start to the 2021-22 campaign, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 12 outings for Leverkusen thus far.
And according to German outlet Sport Bild, Newcastle sent club scout, Lockhart, to Cologne to take a look at Wirtz during Leverkusen's 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga last weekend.
