Steve Cooper reflected on passing his toughest test as a coach after leading Nottingham Forest to survival with a game to spare.

The 1-0 win over Arsenal at the City Ground ensured Forest will have at least one more season of top-flight football, with Cooper able to savour his moment of triumph. His future has been in doubt at least twice but this vindicates the decision to stick with him, thanks to Taiwo Awoniyi's first-half strike.

'This was always going to be my toughest coaching challenge,' he said, referring the club signing 30 new players across the season, following promotion a year ago.
