Nacho Monreal has embraced the opportunity to take on a leadership role this season.
Unai Emery has said he'd like from three to five players in his captaincy group and Monreal is ready to step up.
"To be one of the captains makes me happy and makes me feel like I have more responsibility," he said.
"I have been playing for Arsenal for almost seven years and I think step by step I am feeling more important inside the group, and I am trying to help the younger players because a long time ago I was one of them!
