Mikel Arteta sends Raheem Sterling a message amid Arsenal's injury crisis in attack - as Gunners boss reveals boost with star set to return after long lay-off

Mikel Arteta has urged Raheem Sterling to step up, saying ‘we really need him’ to help bolster Arsenal’s injury-depleted frontline.

The 30-year-old has started just four Premier League games so far this season having underwhelmed since signing on loan from Chelsea on summer transfer deadline day.

It comes as the Gunners battle with injuries to Bukayo Saka, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

Saka and Martinelli are targeted to be back next month, though Tomiyasu, Havertz and Jesus are out until next season.
