Mikel Arteta 'is refusing to give up hope of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signing a new Arsenal contract' as striker weighs up interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan

Mikel Arteta remains determined to convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to sign a new contract with Arsenal, according to the Evening Standard.

The striker's current deal, which is worth around £200,000 a week, expires at the end of next season and he is yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are among the European giants said to be interested in Aubameyang, but Arteta hopes he will remain at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta has not given up hope of keeping Aubameyang beyond the end of next season

The Evening Standard claim that the Spaniard wants the 30-year-old to have a key role in his team beyond next season as he begins a rebuilding job at the Emirates.
