Mikel Arteta demands Arsenal 'learn' from Champions League setback after last-gasp defeat to Porto... but insists branding his players as 'naïve' would be 'cruel'

Mikel Arteta said branding his players as naïve would be ‘cruel’ after Arsenal were defeated by a last-gasp Galeno strike — but demanded they learn from the setback.

The match was heading for a stalemate until Galeno’s 94th-minute goal from 35 yards which leaves the Gunners needing to win in the second leg at the Emirates on March 12.

‘I am very disappointed the way we gave the game away at the end,’ he said. ‘Not managing that situation (leading to the goal) well enough, you get punished in the Champions League.
