Mikel Arteta attempts to cool tensions with his 'friend' Pep Guardiola after his barbed comments in the wake of the Gunners' ill-tempered 2-2 draw at the Etihad promoted the Man City boss to declare 'WAR'

Mikel Arteta offered an olive branch to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola after Arsenal secured a dramatic injury-time victory against Leicester at the Emirates on Saturday.

The fallout from last Sunday's fractious 2-2 Premier League draw between the teams continued all week before Guardiola declared 'war' on former assistant Arteta during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

But Gunners boss Arteta took the first steps to calm the situation following Arsenal's 4-2 win over Leicester.

'I can repeat it very clear: I love Pep,' Arteta said.
