Marseille are said to remain optimistic over re-signing William Saliba this summer, it has been claimed.
Saliba, 21, was loaned out by Arsenal last season to the French side and impressed thoroughly, winning Ligue 1's prestigious young player of the year award as well as his first senior call up to the France national side. He has since established himself as a key player under Didier Deschamps only months away from the World Cup.
The centre-back is yet to make his full senior Arsenal debut in a competitive capacity, but it had been expected this season he would break into the first team.
