MARK CLATTENBURG: Arsenal penalty and West Ham red card both plain WRONG... I'm amazed inexperienced VAR official Peter Bankes didn't tell Anthony Taylor to check the monitor

We had another VAR and penalty controversy coming on the back of the weekend — and this one at Arsenal was wrong, no doubt about that.

West Ham’s Vladimir Coufal won the ball from Alexandre Lacazette.

It was a genuine attempt and a good challenge. How could that be a penalty?

Vladimir Coufal was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Alexandre Lacazette
Referee Anthony Taylor sent Coufal off and awarded Arsenal a penalty in the second-half
Lacazette missed from the penalty spot but Arsenal still managed to take a 2-0 victory

The VAR, Peter Bankes, should have sent Anthony Taylor to the pitchside monitor and he should have rescinded both the penalty and second yellow card for Coufal.
