Luis Diaz 'is set to be out for THREE MONTHS' after undergoing surgery on knee injury that forced him to fly home from Liverpool's Dubai training camp - as Jurgen Klopp labels it 'a proper smash in the face'

Luis Diaz is expected to be out for up to three months after undergoing surgery on his knee, it has been reported.

The Colombian forward went off against Arsenal in October but had returned to training for the club's mid-season camp in Dubai this month.

However, after experiencing further complications on the tour to Dubai, it was announced he would be out for longer.. He has now had surgery on his lateral collateral ligament and is unlikely to appear again before March.

It comes as a major blow to Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, who would have been hoping for a fully fit and firing Diaz, 25, to aid their climb up the table in the second half of the season.
