Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira underwent his medical at Atletico Madrid on Saturday ahead of his season loan deal.
The Uruguay international will link up with compatriot Luis Suarez at the Wanda Metropolitano but first Atletico are pushing to sell either Hector Herrera or Thomas Lemar to make room in their squad.
If the deal goes ahead, Atletico will have the option to sign Torreira permanently next summer for £22million.
Torreira was photographed at Atletico's training ground as he closes in on making the move.
