Eddie Nketiah’s fine form continued for Leeds United on Tuesday night, as he scored his third goal in four games during a 5-4 penalty loss to Stoke City in the Carabao Cup.
Danny Batth opened the scoring with a thumping header in the 39th minute, before Sam Vokes fired home from close range to double the Potters’ advantage on the stroke of half-time.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side then upped the tempo in the second half, with Nketiah pouncing on a defensive mistake, knocking the ball past Jack Butland and finishing into an open goal.
Helder Costa completed the comeback 10 minutes from time, heading home from close range, but with no extra time, Stoke went on to win on penalties.
