Leon Osman believes Everton's disappointing 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield was a 'reality check'.
The former Everton midfielder also hit out at Sean Dyche's side for showing 'no belief' as Liverpool registered their first Premier League win of 2023.
There had been growing optimism around Everton as they came into the Merseyside derby on the back of beating league leaders Arsenal 1-0 in Dyche's first game in charge.
However, goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo ensured an unambitious Everton left Anfield with nothing.
