'He's no Harry Kane' - Arsene Wenger defends Danny Welbeck despite suggesting he lacks cutting edge like fellow England striker

Arsene Wenger admits he wants to keep Danny Welbeck at Arsenal, but he’s not as prolific as England team-mate Harry Kane.

The former Manchester United striker joined the Gunners in 2014, but has been blighted with injuries since moving to London.

Despite his injury record, Wenger has defended Welbeck and insisted he is more than just goals and explained what makes him so vital to any side.

"I want to keep him because I believe he has gone through a torrid time," explained Wenger.

"He has come out well. I see signs in training now that are positive.
