Arsenal fans have pleaded with the club to 'wake up' and make their move for Bruno Guimaraes as Newcastle close in on a £30million move for the Brazilian midfielder.

Sportsmail reported on Tuesday night that the relegation-threatened Magpies made an offer for Lyon star Guimaraes as Eddie Howe looks for a new holding midfielder.

Talks were advancing quickly with Newcastle able to offer a substantial rise on his current salary.
