It was less than three years ago that Barcelona legend Xavi labelled Jack Wilshere as the "future of English football".
Now here we stand with the Arsenal midfielder admitting Arsene Wenger told him this season he could start looking for a new club.
It has certainly been a sad spiral for Wilshere, who has been ravaged by injury throughout his career and even struggled when sent out for a season on loan at Bournemouth.
Since Wenger's matter of fact statement last year though, Wilshere has worked tirelessly to prove he does have a career at Emirates Stadium.
