Former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Lassana Diarra is set to join Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates.

Diarra's contract with Marseille was terminated in February and a move to the Abu Dhabi club has been mooted for some time.

Al Jazira, owned by Sheik Mansour who also owns Manchester City, have three games left in the season and require one more point to clinch the UAE title and secure a place in the FIFA World Club Cup in December representing the hosts.

Diarra, 32, signed for Chelsea in 2005, winning the League Cup and FA Cup, before moving to Arsenal and Portsmouth, where he won the FA Cup again.
