Former Germany, Real Madrid and Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is going into politics in a drastic career change.

Ozil, who retired in 2023, made a name for himself as chief playmaker for the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal, playing 254 times for the Gunners between 2013 and 2021 as a fan favourite.

He had shone for Real Madrid before that, while, at international level, he won the World Cup in 2014 with Germany.

Now, the 36-year-old, who regularly shares fitness videos on social media, having bulked up massively since his north London days, is in Turkey - who he could have played for internationally instead of Germany.
