FA Cup: Liverpool's win at Arsenal watched by record 7.6 million

A record peak television audience of 7.6 million watched Liverpool's 2-0 FA Cup third-round victory over Arsenal on BBC One on Sunday.

Liverpool's win at Arsenal was also streamed a further two million times on BBC iPlayer.

An average audience of almost six million for the match resulted in a 44% share of viewers.

"It's fantastic to see record audiences for coverage of the FA Cup, a competition with so much history, drama and magic," said director of BBC Sport Barbara Slater.
