Everton 2-1 Arsenal: Ashley Williams' winner prevents Gunners moving top

Arsenal missed out on the chance to move top of the Premier League table as Ashley Williams’ 86th minute header claimed a much needed three points for Everton at Goodison Park.

The Welsh defender directed Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick past his own goalkeeper as the visitors took the lead, with Seamus Coleman equalising before the break.

And Williams made up for his earlier mistake by heading past Petr Cech in the final stages of the match, leaving the Gunners three points behind Chelsea - who have a game in hand.

The Gunners dominated the opening stages, and rightfully claimed the lead when Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick was deflected into the back of the net by Williams.
