Euro 2020: Saka's England reach quarter-finals

Congratulations to Bukayo Saka, who helped England reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 by beating Germany on Tuesday evening.

Our Hale End graduate started on the right of England's front line at Wembley, becoming only the third teenager to start a knock-out game for the Three Lions at a major tournament behind Michael Owen (1998 World Cup) and Wayne Rooney (Euro 2004). Bernd Leno did not feature for Germany.

After a goalless first half, Gareth Southgate's side found the breakthrough when Raheem Sterling converted a low cross from close range. Jack Grealish, Saka's replacement on the hour mark, then found Harry Kane to double England's advantage.
