Mohamed Elneny’s time at the African Cup of Nations has come to an end after Egypt were knocked out by DR Congo on Sunday.
Meschak Elia put DR Congo ahead late in the first half before Mostafa Mohamed equalised from the penalty spot on the brink of half-time.
Egypt were reduced to ten men in extra time as Mohamed Hamdy Sharaf saw red, and were ultimately beaten 8-7 on penalties.
Elneny played 112 minutes of the match, having featured for a total of 146 minutes in the group stages.
