EFL bosses are frustrated at the lack of consistency shown by Wembley Stadium and the Metropolitan Police over kick-off times for their competitions this season.
Wembley has hosted the EFL’s five showpiece finals since 2007, but whereas this year’s Championship play-off final — along with February’s Carabao Cup final — were allocated 3pm slots, last month’s FA Cup semi-final between Manchester City and Chelsea kicked off at 5.15pm and next month’s Champions League final will start at 8pm.
The EFL’s gripe is that the authorities are offering other competitions the coveted, later slots while their own such requests are ignored.
