'Discrimination is a gangrene that we must eradicate from society': Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira makes an impassioned plea for football to combat racism as he calls for more black managers, coaches and senior officials

Former Arsenal player and current Nice boss Patrick Vieira has called for action to end the problem of racism worldwide.

Vieira believes that greater representation at all levels of football would go a long way towards inspiring future generations, and says 'talking is no longer enough.'

Writing in French publication L'Equipe, Vieira said: 'Now is the time for collective action and awareness of a problem that transcends origins, socio-professional categories or borders.
