Curtis Jones to start UP FRONT for England U21 against Croatia with injuries causing a striker crisis - as manager Lee Carsley prepares for talks with Folarin Balogun over his international future

Curtis Jones is primed to start up front for England’s Under 21s on Tuesday, with Lee Carsley set for talks with Folarin Balogun over his international future.

Balogun pulled out of the final camp before the summer European Championship through injury, with the United States keen on the Arsenal striker, on loan at Reims, pledging his allegiance to them.

It left Carsley with only Cameron Archer as a recognised striker, with Jones coming off the bench in a central role during Saturday’s 4-0 victory over France, scoring his side's third goal.
