Alan Pardew admits he has held talks with Mathieu Flamini and is hoping to bring the former Arsenal midfielder to Crystal Palace in the coming days.
Despite the transfer window having shut, free agent Flamini is available and the Eagles have left a space to accommodate him in their 25-man squad.
Flamini was released by Arsenal at the end of last season, and Pardew says he has twice met the 32-year-old for discussions.
'There is scope to bring in one more into the squad - I did that on purpose as I thought there might be a player we can take who is not under contract, who might just fit what we're doing,' Pardew told the local press.
