Coronavirus UK: Premier League football suspension 'is likely' over coronavirus

A suspension of the Premier League season 'of some sort' due to the coronavirus is now likely, a source said today after Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi both tested positive for the infection.

This weekend's programme of Premier League and Football League fixtures is now in jeopardy, with three Leicester players being tested and Everton's squad in self-isolation after a player reported symptoms of the virus.

The Premier League is meeting at 10.30am this morning, with clubs set to be represented via videolink, while an EFL meeting regarding the rest of this season's Championship, League One and League Two began at 9.
