We will donate our fee for participating in the FA Community Shield against Chelsea to those tragically affected by last week's Grenfell Tower fire.
The football season's traditional ‘curtain raiser’ has a long tradition of raising money for a variety of charity and community organisations and gives the two London clubs a chance to come together to show support for a community which has lost so much in the wake of this tragic event.
It is hoped the game will raise in the region of £1.25 million for the victims.
Chief executive Ivan Gazidis said: "With the rest of the nation, Arsenal Football Club was shocked by the incident at Grenfell Tower and our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragedy.
