Arsenal's have been given fresh hope in their long-standing pursuit of Brighton's Moises Caicedo, down to a complex clause in his Seagulls contract.
The Gunners made a move for the Ecuadorian late in the January transfer window as they searched for cover for midfield star Thomas Partey.
Despite the North London side offering £70m for the midfielder, Brighton remained adamant he would stay at the Amex Stadium and Arsenal decided not to continue to push the south coast club, in fear of not risking their relationship over any future transfer dealings.
Arsenal instead ended up signing Jorginho from Chelsea, while Caicedo signed an extended contract with the Seagulls.
