You could have forgiven Bayern Munich for planning a little sightseeing into their trip to London this week. A stroll down the Mall, perhaps, or a nostalgic trip to Wembley, the scene of their last Champions League triumph.
Yet this is Bayern Munich. Ruthless, predatory Bayern Munich. Even with a 5-1 lead from the first leg and essentially free passage into the quarter-finals, the Germans are not planning to mess around.
'We are not here on a field trip,' warned club chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge this week. 'This is the Champions League. The door (to the quarter-finals) is open, but we have to walk through it seriously and respectfully.
