After guiding us to an unbeaten start to the campaign, Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for August.
The boss oversaw our wins against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace before we drew 2-2 with Fulham to end the month on seven points from a possible nine, and that good work has been recognised by the division who have included him in a five-man shortlist for the first managerial prize of the season.
Mikel - who won four monthly awards last term to take his tally at the club to six - is up against Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola who was the only boss to win three out of three at the start of the campaign.
