Arsenal's billionaire owner Stan Kroenke has purchased a prestigious French vineyard that has been family-run for two centuries.
Publicity shy Kroenke, 69, who has an estimated personal wealth of $8bn, has bought a majority share in Bonneau du Martray, a history-soaked wine grower in France's Burgundy region.
'Silent Stan', as he is known by Arsenal fans, also owns American football team the Los Angeles Rams, basketball's Denver Nuggets, as well ice hockey side the Colorado Avalanche.
The newspaper did not reveal the price of the buyout, and the family which owns the site, the Le Bault de la Morinieres, could not be reached.
