Arsenal are weighing up triggering the £40million release clause of Sporting Lisbon starlet Joelson Fernandes, according to reports.
The highly-rated 17-year-old is believed to have also attracted interest from both Barcelona and Juventus - and has been dubbed 'the next Cristiano Ronaldo', another former prodigy to have progressed through Sporting's academy.
A Bola report that the Portuguese outfit are keen to extend Fernandes' contract, but face a battle to keep him with several clubs vying for his signature.
Fernandes has taken part in first-team training sessions over the course of the last year.
