Arsenal have submitted a world record fee for England and Manchester United striker Alessia Russo.

Russo, 23, is out of contract with United at the end of the season and turned down an offer of a new deal last year.

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall has been open about his desire to sign a proven goalscorer before Tuesday's transfer deadline and has made Russo his top target.
