Arsenal have moved ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign in-demand Dutch sensation Alessio Da Cruz after holding talks with the player's representatives.
The 20-year-old winger joined Italian Serie B side Novara from FC Twente last summer and his fine performances have attracted the attention of some of Europe's top clubs.
Serie A giants Inter Milan have been keeping tabs on Da Cruz, along with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, but it's Arsenal who have pressed the accelerator and are now leading the race to sign the attack-minded midfielder.
According to Sky Italia, the Gunners have met with the player's representatives in the past few days and are hopeful of thrashing out a deal to bring the youngster to the Premier League next summer.
