Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reveals he has been hospitalised with MALARIA contracted on international duty with Gabon, as he posts selfie from his bed while team-mates face Slavia Prague

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he is in hospital recovering from malaria.

Aubameyang was a notable absentee for Arsenal in their season-defining Europa League quarter-final second leg with Slavia Prague.

But details of the Gabonese striker's absence came to light just before kick-off in the Czech Republic as he posted a photo on his Instagram page of him in a hospital bed.

In a caption on Instagram he explained that he 'wasn't really feeling' himself in recent weeks

Accompanying the selfie, Aubameyang wrote: 'Hey guys, thanks for all the messages and calls.

'Unfortunately I contracted Malaria whilst being on national team duty in Gabon a few weeks ago.
