Arsenal star Henrikh Mkhitaryan out for rest of Premier League season with knee ligament damage... but could still feature in Europa League final

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is expected to miss the rest of the Premier League season — but has a fighting to chance to be fit if Arsenal reach the Europa League final.

The Armenian has had a scan on the knee injury sustained in last Thursday's quarter-final first-leg win over CSKA Moscow which has revealed medial ligament damage.

The news essentially rules Mkhitaryan out of the remainder of the domestic season as well as a potential Europa League semi-final.

However, there is hope that Mkhitaryan could be available for the final in Lyon on May 16, if his recovery goes according to plan.
