Arsenal stars are willing to accept wage deferrals despite rejecting the club’s initial proposals of straight pay cuts.
The Gunners want their squad take a full wage reduction, believed to be in the region of 12.5 percent, for a 12 month period starting from this month.
Intriguingly, the club are offering to reimburse players the full amount if they qualify for next season’s Champions League – an unlikely scenario given they are currently eight points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea, though fifth might be be good enough to gain entry owing to Manchester City’s pending European ban.
