Arsenal news: Emmanuel Eboue offered to quit football to look after Queen's corgis on team visit to Buckingham Palace

During his time at Arsenal, Emmanuel Eboue developed a reputation as a fans' favourite and a practical joker.

And now the Ivorian international has cemented his place in footballing folklore, by revealing that he once offered the Queen to give up football and look after her Corgis.

The former Arsenal and Sunderland defender, who is currently banned from football for a year, made the outrageous claim during an Arsenal visit to Buckingham Palace in 2007.

'We went there and Thierry Henry said to me: "Please, Emmanuel, this is Buckingham Palace, it's the Queen's house, don't do anything," Eboue told The Telegraph.
