Arsenal new boy Granit Xhaka 'intelligent enough' to overcome red card problem

Arsene Wenger believes Granit Xhaka is 'intelligent enough' to solve his disciplinary issues.

The Arsenal midfielder was sent off for the eighth time in two and a half years when he cynically wiped out Modou Barrow against Swansea on Saturday.

Only one of those dismissals has followed Xhaka's £34million move from Borussia Monchengladbach, with Wenger saying: 'We are not responsible for the red cards he got somewhere else.
