Reiss Nelson is expected to sign a new contract at Arsenal after a breakthrough in talks over an extension.
The Gunners attacker’s existing deal expires at the end of the month when he is free to leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer.
Nelson has rejected at least two contract offers this season and looked likely to leave Arsenal.
But there has been a breakthrough in negotiations with Nelson agreeing, in principle, a new deal.
Barring any last-minute hitches, Nelson will sign a long-term contract - understood to be an initial four years.
