Thomas Partey is finally preparing to make his long-awaited return to first-team action.

The Ghana international hasn’t played since October after undergoing a procedure to cure a long-term thigh problem.

But Partey’s recovery is set accelerate his recovery on the club’s current mid-season break.

The clash against Nottingham Forest on January 30 is being pencilled as a potential return date for the 30-year-old midfielder.

Partey had to miss the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana due to the injury, although it is understood medics for club and country have maintained good dialogue.
