Arsenal look set to beat West Ham and Juventus to the signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Cristiano Piccini this summer.
The full-back has performed well during his first season with the Portuguese club, starting 22 games in the top flight.
And his form has not gone unnoticed across Europe with Arsenal, West Ham and Juve all said to be monitoring his situation closely.
But, according to Portuguese newspaper Jornal do Noticias, it is the Gunners who are currently in the driving seat to land him, despite the news that Arsene Wenger will leave this summer.
